The Monkey uses pure natural fresh fruit, no artificial Flavours, no added sugar, preservatives or concentrates. Name it and we have it! Samrat Reddy (born 15 April 1985) is an Indian entrepreneur who founded Drunken Monkey in 2016. He created the tagline ‘Naturally High’ for the brand. He attended the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, for a one-year MBA program, where he wrote a thesis on smoothies.  In 2015, Reddy started experimenting with smoothie recipes, developing standard formulas for each of the company’s signature smoothie blends. Inspired by his own experience, and backed by an extensive research that he carried out on the potential of the smoothie market, Reddy decided to give wings to his ideas.

He founded Drunken Monkey in December 2015 and operations started in February 2016. After opening its first four outlets in Hyderabad, the company began offering outlet franchises, expanding to include more than 50 outlets by December 2018.  Its outlets range from quick-service café style locations to smaller kiosks.  As of February 2019, the company has 64 outlets across India and aims to increase the number of its outlets to 150 by the end of 2019. The company sells blended fresh-fruit smoothies and juices in over 170 combinations. Their products include coffee blends, milkshakes, sandwiches, quesadillas, and high-protein food. Drunken Monkey says its fresh fruit smoothies and shakes are made from 100% natural local produce, without any artificial flavors, preservatives or even ice. Winner of the ‘Best Juice Parlor of the Year 2017’ by Restaurant India, the startup’s current challenge is to educate customers on the health benefits of smoothies.
